Over 100 volunteers packed 500 boxes of treats and toiletries for our troops serving abroad this past Saturday at the 11th annual Operation Shoebox packing event hosted by the Rotary Club of Hillsborough at the Hillsborough YMCA. "Serving abroad, particularly during the holidays, can leave our troops feeling a bit homesick " commented Rich Salem, member of the Rotary Club of Hillsborough who helped organize the event. "We hope that these packages, which contain familiar items from home, including letters and cards prepared by the Girl Scouts, help remind our troops that we are thinking of them and appreciate their sacrifice."Christmas Cheer for Our Troops
